BLACK IRISH PLAIN PORTER

Starting in late October we will brew, in the classical porter style, this deep brown beer. This is a full bodied porter with flavours of dark chocolate and espresso. Black Irish is brewed until the end of February. 

The dog shown on the label is a beautiful Irish Wolfhound.

JOHN BY IMPERIAL STOUT

Beginning in November we make only 4 batches of our Imperial Stout. It is brewed in the tradition of the stouts produced in the British Isles during the 18th and 19th centuries that were shipped to Imperial Russia. John By is so deep brown in colour it appears to be black. The powerful malt flavour is balanced by its alcohol content. Just the thing to ward off the cold of a Canadian winter. 

The Bytown Museum in Ottawa has given permission to use the signature of Lieutenant-Colonel John By on the label and has supplied the artwork for the picture of John By.
